Each Easter, we try to head up to North East Victoria and camp on our friends farm near Milawa. This year we took an extra few days and did a day trip to Mount Buffalo.

Usually our Easter Camps are heavily focused on food, with each group taking a turn to prepare a meal. This year Simon and Ellen treated us with king prawns on the campfire for Good Friday.

Other fun activities included: sleeping in, drinking wine in the creek and watching the campfire.

One day we did manage get a little more adventurous. We drove up to Mt Buffalo and did a short (4km), but beautiful hike to Rollasons Falls.

It was great fun driving up the windy Mt Buffallo road, and passing the cyclists challenging themselves on the climb. On the way down we stopped for a cyclist who'd lost her nerve on the descent and was walking down while her friends came to retrieve her. We offered a lift down the hill, but we were already fully loaded and I think our stinky camp odour might have also put her off.

After the walk, we dropped into the Plough Inn in Prue's childhood hometown of Tarawingee, (near Milawa). The Plough has recently changed owners, the new management was super friendly. We noticed that they had some bottles of the Golden Ball lĂ -bas Chardonnay, which is a local gem and favourite of Simon's Dad. The publican sold them to us for cheap, so happy days.
