Koblenz to Hamburg

Koblenz to Hamburg

It was pouring rain when I left Koblenz so I was soaked by the time I got to the train station. I packed my bike into my bag grabbed a bratwurst to warm up and headed to the train. The station was full of bikes, all the other bike tourists were escaping the rain and heading home.

World Cup - Germany vs Brazil

James & Mel picked me up from Hamburg-Harburg station then we promptly headed into town to watch the football match at Heiligengeistfeld (a massive public viewing) we arrive 2 hours early anticipating something like this but it was empty. The rain was moving in and it was a week night. So we grabbed  Kebab on the Reeperbahn watched an epic storm roll in. We bought some ponchos returned to the big screen at the start of the match. 10mins later Germany was up 2-0 and the match as good as won, I went to the loo and when I returned that had grown to 5 nil. The final tally was 7-1. Celebrations ensued.

The German fans marched down the Reeperbahn, through the red light district singing and chanting. We drank more and arrived home soaked, drunk and exhausted about 2 hours after that.
